pureCASA.solar is a free solar planning tool built for Costa Rica homeowners. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We've written it in plain language intentionally — if something is unclear, email us at andrew@purecasa.solar.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google. During profile setup, we ask for your first name (required), last name (optional), WhatsApp number (optional), and town or canton (optional).
Planning data. The planner stores the appliance inventory you build, your solar system sizing inputs and settings, and any electricity bill history you enter. This data is tied to your account so you can access it across devices.
Usage information. We may collect basic, anonymous usage data — such as which features are used most — to improve the tool. This does not identify you individually.
We use your information to provide and operate the Solar Planner, to save your progress between sessions, and to allow you to export your data as a PDF report. We may use your email or WhatsApp number to send you relevant updates about the tool — you can opt out at any time. We do not use your data for advertising or behavioral profiling.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party, ever. Your appliance data, bill history, and contact details are yours. We access them only to operate the service.
Supabase. We use Supabase (supabase.com) to store your account data and planning information securely. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant and stores data on infrastructure hosted in the United States. Their privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
Google. If you use "Sign in with Google," Google authenticates your identity and shares your name and email with us. Google's privacy policy governs that interaction.
Affiliate partners. Some equipment recommendations in the planner and on the marketing site include affiliate links. Clicking these links may set a cookie from the partner site. We do not share your personal data with affiliate partners.
We use minimal, functional cookies only — primarily to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels on the planner application. The marketing homepage (purecasa.solar) uses Google Fonts, which may set a cookie as part of font delivery.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you would like to delete your account and all associated data — appliances, bills, solar settings, and profile information — email us at andrew@purecasa.solar with the subject line "Delete my account." We will process your request within 30 days.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any disputes arising under this policy will be subject to the jurisdiction of Costa Rican courts.
